About this tool
Documents pick up pages you do not want to send: a blank back page from a scanner, a cover sheet, a draft watermark page or a section that is not meant for the recipient. Deleting them before you share the file is quicker than printing, re-scanning or exporting again from the source program.
The tool copies only the pages you keep into a new file using qpdf, so nothing is redrawn and the quality of the kept pages stays exactly as it was. Write the pages to delete with commas and dashes, for example 1, 4-6, 12-. A dash with no end number means to the last page. Page numbers start at 1 and must exist in the file.
The tool will not delete every page, since that would leave an empty file. Remember that deleting a page hides it in the new file only; your original is unchanged, so keep it if you may need the pages later. Uploads can be up to 20 MB.
Frequently asked questions
How do I write the pages to delete?
Use page numbers separated by commas, and dashes for ranges. For example 2, 5-7, 10- deletes page 2, pages 5 to 7 and everything from page 10 to the end. Page numbers start at 1.
Does it change my original file?
No. The tool makes a new PDF with the remaining pages and your original on your device stays as it was. Keep the original if you may need the deleted pages later.
Will links and bookmarks still work?
Links between kept pages normally keep working. Links or bookmarks that pointed to a deleted page will no longer lead anywhere. Check the result if the document relies on internal navigation.
Can I delete every page?
No. At least one page must stay. If you want only some pages from a document, the Split PDF tool can cut out a page range instead.
Is my file stored?
No. Your file is written to a private temporary folder, processed for the length of the request and deleted straight after, whether the job worked or not. We do not keep copies, build a library of uploads or read the content of your documents.
