Free Time Zone Converter

A time zone converter shows what the clock reads in other places at one moment. Enter a date and time, the zone it is in, and a list of zones to convert to, such as Asia/Kolkata, America/New_York and Europe/London. The tool returns the local date and time, the UTC offset and whether daylight saving is active, which helps when you book calls with clients abroad.

About this tool

Type the date and time as 2026-10-15 14:30, or leave it empty to use the current moment. For the zones, use the standard names such as Asia/Kolkata, America/Los_Angeles or Europe/Berlin, or just type a city like Dubai, Tokyo or Sydney and the tool finds the matching zone. Short codes such as UTC, GMT, EST and PST also work. Put one zone on each line in the list to convert to.

Daylight saving is handled for you, because the zone names carry the full rule history. This matters more than people expect: India uses one offset all year (UTC+05:30), but New York changes between UTC-05:00 and UTC-04:00, and the United States and Europe change their clocks on different dates, so the gap between London and New York is not the same every week of the year. The table shows the offset that applies on the date you entered.

For client work across time zones, we suggest writing meeting times in the client's zone and your own in the same message, and including the date, because a time near midnight can fall on a different day for the other person. If you schedule a recurring call, check it again when either country changes its clocks.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert IST to EST or PST?

Enter the date and time, set the first zone to Asia/Kolkata, and list America/New_York and America/Los_Angeles in the second box. The result shows the local time in each place. The gap changes during the year because the United States moves its clocks for daylight saving and India does not.

Does the converter handle daylight saving time?

Yes. The zone names contain the full daylight saving rules, so the offset shown is the one in force on the date you typed. A 9 am meeting in London in July is converted using summer time, while the same time in January uses winter time. The table says whether daylight saving is active.

What time zone names can I use?

Use the Area/City names from the standard time zone database, such as Asia/Dubai or Europe/Paris. You can also type a plain city name, and the tool matches it to a zone, or use codes like UTC, GMT, EST and PST. If a name is not recognised the tool tells you which line to fix.

What happens if I leave the date and time empty?

The tool uses the current moment in the source zone you chose. That is a quick way to see what time it is right now in several cities at once. The result lists the date as well, so you can tell when the other city is already on the next day.

Why does a time sometimes not exist?

When clocks jump forward for daylight saving, one hour is skipped, so a time such as 2:30 am on that night never happens. The tool moves such a time forward by the length of the jump, the way phones and calendars do, and the result shows the corrected moment.
