About this tool
A PDF page is hard to reuse as a picture. You may want a page as a social post, a thumbnail for a catalogue, a slide image, or a TIFF that an archive system asks for. Converting each page to an image gives you a file that any editor, website or app can open.
Pages are drawn by poppler, the rendering library behind many Linux PDF viewers. You choose the format and the resolution. 72 dpi suits web previews, 150 dpi is sharp on screen, and 300 dpi is print quality but produces larger files. JPG is best for pages with photos, PNG keeps text crisp, TIFF suits archives, and WebP gives small files for websites. BMP is large and mostly needed for older software.
Each run converts up to 30 pages; use the page box to pick a range such as 1-5 or 12-20. The ZIP holds every page, while the preview shows the first few. Large pages at 300 dpi take longer and the job must finish within 30 seconds, so lower the dpi if it times out. Password protected PDFs need the Unlock PDF tool first.
Frequently asked questions
Which format should I choose?
Use JPG for pages with photos and when file size matters. Use PNG for text, charts and screenshots because edges stay crisp. TIFF is common for archives and print, WebP gives small files for websites, and BMP is only for old software that asks for it.
What dpi should I pick?
72 dpi is enough for a small web preview, 150 dpi looks sharp on most screens, and 300 dpi is meant for printing. Higher dpi makes bigger files and takes longer, and a very large page may hit the 30 second limit.
Is there a page limit?
Up to 30 pages are converted per run. For a longer document, convert it in parts by typing a range such as 31-60 in the page box. The ZIP contains all converted pages and the preview shows the first few.
Can I convert one specific page?
Yes. Type the page number, for example 7, or a range like 3-5, in the page box. Leave it empty to convert from the first page, up to 30 pages.
Are my files stored?
No. Your file is written to a private temporary folder, processed for the length of the request and deleted straight after, whether the job worked or not. We do not keep copies, build a library of uploads or read the content of your documents.
