Free HTML Minifier
This free HTML minifier removes comments and surplus whitespace from your markup so the page downloads faster. It leaves the content of pre, textarea, script and style blocks exactly as written, keeps conditional comments, and shows the size before and after. It suits developers and site owners who want a smaller HTML file without changing how the page looks.

About this tool
Every byte of HTML is downloaded before the browser can draw the page, so removing indentation, line breaks and comments gives a small but free speed gain. On a template-heavy page the saving is often between 5 and 20 percent before compression, and a little less once gzip or Brotli is on, because compression already handles repeated spaces well.
This minifier is deliberately conservative. Runs of whitespace become a single space, and whitespace is removed only next to block-level tags such as div, p, li and head, where it never changes the layout. Text inside pre and textarea, and code inside script and style, is copied untouched, so nothing that depends on exact spacing breaks. Conditional comments for old Internet Explorer are kept.
Keep your readable source in your project and minify only the copy you publish. If you need to read minified markup again, run it through the HTML beautifier. Nothing you paste is stored.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to minify HTML?
Yes, when the minifier is careful about whitespace. This one keeps one space between inline elements, leaves pre, textarea, script and style content alone, and removes only whitespace that browsers ignore around block tags. Always open the minified page once to confirm it looks the same before you publish it.
How much smaller will my HTML get?
It depends on how much indentation and how many comments the source has. Hand-written or template-generated pages with deep indentation often shrink noticeably, while already compact markup barely changes. The result panel shows the exact bytes before and after, so you can see the saving for your own file.
Does it minify inline CSS and JavaScript too?
No. Script and style blocks are kept exactly as written so a regular expression, a template string or a CSS hack is never altered. Paste that code into the CSS minifier or JavaScript minifier separately if you want it compressed as well.
Will minifying HTML help my SEO?
Indirectly. Smaller HTML downloads and parses sooner, which can help load time and Core Web Vitals, and speed is a lightweight ranking signal. It will not fix slow images, heavy scripts or a slow server, so treat it as one small step in a wider speed check.
