Competitor Keyword Gap Analysis
A competitor keyword gap shows the search terms a rival site ranks for in Google that yours does not. This free tool compares two domains using live DataForSEO data and lists up to 50 gap keywords by monthly search volume with the competitor's position and ranking page, plus the keywords you both rank for.

About this tool
The fastest way to find content ideas that are already proven to bring traffic is to look at what a competitor ranks for and you do not. Each gap keyword is a topic with real searches where a rival page has found a place in Google. Some will be irrelevant, but a handful are usually clear opportunities for a new page or a stronger section on an existing one.
Enter your domain and a competitor's domain and choose a country. The tool asks DataForSEO for the keywords where the competitor ranks and you have no ranking in the data, ordered by monthly search volume, and shows each term with its volume, the competitor's position and the page that ranks. A second table lists keywords you both rank for, which shows where you compete head on. Each list is capped at 50 results.
Use the list as a research shortlist, not a to-do list. Check each keyword's intent first: a rival may rank for a brand name, a location you do not serve or a product you do not sell. Rankings in the data are a snapshot of the country and language you chose, and "you do not rank" means your site is outside the positions tracked by the data source, not that it has no page about the topic.
Frequently asked questions
What is a keyword gap analysis?
It compares the keywords two sites rank for and lists the difference. The gap that matters most is the set of terms a competitor ranks for and you do not. It points to topics your audience searches for that you have not covered well, which makes it a quick source of content ideas.
How should I choose a competitor to compare?
Pick a site that sells to the same audience in the same country, ideally one of the sites you see in the top results for your main keywords. A far bigger site gives a long list of gaps you cannot realistically close, so a similar-sized competitor often gives more usable ideas.
Why is the list shorter than I expected?
The tool shows the 50 gap keywords with the highest search volume, and the data source covers only keywords it tracks in the country you chose. If the two sites are small or in different topics, there may be few results. Try another country or a closer competitor.
Can I act on every keyword in the list?
No. Check the search intent first. Brand names, locations you do not serve and products you do not sell are not opportunities. Group the useful keywords by topic, then decide whether each topic deserves a new page or an improved section on a page you already have.
