Ping Your Website: Free IndexNow URL Submitter
Pinging a website means telling search engines a page is new or changed so they crawl it sooner. Old ping services such as Pingomatic reach directories nobody uses now; the modern way is IndexNow. This free tool verifies your IndexNow key file, submits up to 100 URLs to Bing, Yandex, Seznam, Naver and Yep and explains the response.

About this tool
After you publish or update a page, search engines can take days or weeks to notice. For years the answer was an online ping website tool that sent XML-RPC pings to a list of services. That list has shrunk to almost nothing of value, and Google never used pings for ranking or indexing. IndexNow is an open protocol that lets a site tell participating search engines about changed URLs straight away. One submission to api.indexnow.org is shared with every engine that supports it, currently Bing, Yandex, Seznam, Naver and Yep. Google does not take part, so keep your XML sitemap current and use Search Console for Google.
IndexNow proves you control the site with a key: a string of 8 to 128 letters, numbers or dashes saved in a text file on your host. This tool fetches that file before it submits anything, and stops with a clear explanation if the file is missing or does not contain the key, because the engines would reject the submission anyway. It also checks that every URL is on the host you entered.
A submission is a hint, not a guarantee: the engines still decide whether and when to crawl and index each page. Submit only URLs that really changed, and do not resend the same list again and again. The tool allows 10 submissions per visitor per hour. Our old online-ping-website-tool page now lives here, because this is the version of "ping my website" that still does something.
Frequently asked questions
How do I ping my website to Google and Bing?
For Bing and the other IndexNow engines, submit the changed URLs here with your IndexNow key. For Google, there is no ping: keep an accurate XML sitemap with lastmod dates, link the new page from existing pages, and use the URL Inspection tool in Search Console to request indexing of an important page. Both together cover every major engine.
Is there a Pingomatic alternative that still works?
IndexNow is the practical replacement. Pingomatic and similar services send XML-RPC pings to blog directories and feed readers, which no longer influence Google or Bing indexing. IndexNow sends your changed URLs straight to Bing, Yandex, Seznam, Naver and Yep, and WordPress plugins such as Rank Math and Yoast can send them automatically on publish.
How do I create an IndexNow key file?
Pick a key of 8 to 128 characters using letters, numbers and dashes; a 32 character hexadecimal string works well. Save it, and nothing else, in a UTF-8 text file named after the key, such as 3f8a9c2e7b1d4f6a.txt, and upload it to the root of your site so it opens at https://yourdomain.com/3f8a9c2e7b1d4f6a.txt.
What do the IndexNow response codes mean?
200 means the URLs were received and the key verified; 202 means they were received and the key check is still pending. 400 is a badly formed request, 403 means the key file could not be verified, 422 means some URLs are not on the host or the key breaks the rules, and 429 means too many requests.
Does IndexNow work for Google?
No. Google has not adopted IndexNow, so a submission here reaches Bing, Yandex, Seznam, Naver and Yep but not Google. For Google, keep an accurate XML sitemap with lastmod dates, link new pages from existing ones, and use the URL Inspection tool in Search Console to request indexing of an important page.
