Free YouTube Video Info Tool
This free YouTube video info tool shows the title, channel name, channel link, video ID and thumbnails of any public video from its link, plus the publish date when the page makes it available. It uses YouTube's public oEmbed data, caches results for a few hours and never downloads the video itself.

About this tool
Creators, marketers and researchers often need the exact title of a video, the channel behind it, the video ID or a clean thumbnail link. Copying them by hand from a page is slow and error prone. Paste the link here and get the details in a tidy list, with thumbnail links in each size YouTube publishes, ready to use in a report, a blog post or an embed.
The data comes from oEmbed, a public standard that YouTube offers so other sites can embed and describe videos. It covers the title, the channel name and address, and the player size. It does not include view counts, likes, tags or the description. The publish date is read, where available, from the public watch page. Private, unlisted-removed or deleted videos return no data, and the tool tells you when that happens.
This tool does not download videos or audio. Downloading a video without permission from the owner breaks YouTube's terms of service and may infringe copyright, so we leave it out on purpose. If you want to use someone else's video on your site, embed it with the embed code generator, which plays it from YouTube and credits the channel. To grab a thumbnail you own, use the thumbnail downloader.
Frequently asked questions
Why can I not download the video with this tool?
Because downloading a video without the owner's permission breaks YouTube's terms of service and often copyright law. This tool shows public information only. To use a video on your site, embed it, which plays it from YouTube and keeps the channel credited and the views counted.
Where does the information come from?
The title, channel and size come from YouTube's public oEmbed endpoint, which any website may use. The publish date is read from the public watch page when available. We do not use private data, log in to anything or collect information about viewers.
Why is the publish date missing?
The oEmbed data does not include a date, so the tool tries to read it from the public watch page. If YouTube does not return that page to our server, or its layout changes, the date is left out rather than guessed. You can always read the date on the video page.
Why does a video return no information?
Private videos, deleted videos and videos whose owner disabled embedding return nothing from oEmbed. A mistyped link or a playlist address can also fail. Check that the video plays in a private browser window, then paste the plain watch link again.
Is the link I paste stored?
Only briefly. The public result for a video is cached for a few hours so repeated lookups are fast and do not overload YouTube, and the cache holds public video details only, not who asked. Nothing about you or your link is saved.
