AI Definition Generator
This free AI definition generator explains any term or concept in the style you choose: dictionary, plain English, technical, one-line glossary or explained simply for a beginner. About this tool
The generator asks Claude, an AI model, for a direct definition that opens with what the thing is, then adds a short explanation in the style you chose, one example sentence and three related terms. If your term has several meanings, add context to pick the right one.
Type the term, add optional context such as "in digital marketing", choose a style and run it. For glossary pages, use the one-line style and run each term separately. For articles that want to be quoted by AI search tools, start a section with a short, direct definition like the first line of this output. The result is a draft to refine, so run it more than once if the first version is not quite right.
The term can be up to 120 characters. Definitions are AI-generated, so check technical, legal and medical terms against an authoritative source before you publish them. The tool cannot cite its sources, and meanings of newer or niche terms may be out of date or wrong.
Frequently asked questions
What if my term has several meanings?
Add context in the context box, such as the field or industry, and the AI will define that meaning. Without it, the AI picks the most common meaning, which may not be the one you need.
Can I use the definitions in a glossary?
Yes, with care. Check each definition against a trusted source, rewrite it in your own words where needed, and confirm it is correct for your field. AI definitions can be wrong on niche or recent terms.
How much text can I use, and are there limits?
Each run accepts up to 120 characters for the term and 200 for the context. There is also a fair-use limit on AI runs per visitor each day so the tool stays free. When you reach it, the free tools that do not use AI still work, and you can run this one again the next day.
How accurate is the AI output?
No AI output is guaranteed accurate. This tool can misread your meaning, repeat a common phrase or state a detail you did not give it, so read the definition through, check every name, number and claim, and edit it before you publish. Treat it as a fast first draft that you review, not finished copy.
